Yes, but for some badges - it's worth it!

Depends on how many patches.... it is a McDojo?? If so, you'll be sewing on at least 20. ;D ;D Actually, bleeding to death from sewing patches on is something that I'd end up doing...no wonder my work colleagues call me Mr Bump...

In fact up until the other night I had 6 gi of which only 2 had a single badge (my club's) on. I decided to badge up one more gi... I do like to keep a couple completely clear of all badges but I am also proud to show which club I am a part of! ;D

Anyhoo, I like patches on my gi... it helps to hold some of them together!! lol. I have one extremely old and battered Hayashi gi which basically could do with being cut up for floorcloths (as my mum always used to do with dad's old shirts!) Still, I'm gonna keep it as long as possible - it was my first gi... I have a single association patch on about half of my 9 gi. In fact, the parent organisation that I belong to has recently changed it's badge style and the 'authorised' location for wearing the patch. Instead of one circular patch on the left chest, we now have a rectangular patch on the left sleeve. Oh well, wearing the patch is not compulsory, so I don't need to go around and re-sew all my other gi! lol, I really would bleed to death if I had to do that...I'm so hopeless at sewing...

9 gi!!!!!!!!!!!! My lord girl did you win the karate lottery? Not quite.... I just seem to be a charity case for people's cast offs... lol! Actually, I've bought 5 out of my 9 gi., although 3 were from e-bay... cheapskate me! ;D The 9 doesn't include a judo gi that I also own that I used when I was training in Aikido... Anyone wanna scruffy 2nd-hand judo gi, size 4?? It's got manky looking patches on the knees from where we used to train on a dirty floor (I blame Sheffield council for not keeping their sports centres clean). There's also a bloodstain on it that I got in my very 1st lesson (busted lip during randori practice). Anyone? No takers?? I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't want it!!

I'm glad that we now get our gi with the club logo ready embroidered onto it, instead ofg having to faff about with sewing (a concept that is almost as unfamiliar to me as that mystical subject "ironing your gi" )
