If you got into a row with someone on the internet. Would you ever be willing to actually meet them and fight them?
I know this sounds ridiculous, but you see it all the time on Martial Arts forums. Someone questions someone elses ability/claims and then the next thing you know a challenge is issued.
So what is your oppinion on them? Is fighting someone ever a justified way of settling your differences? Or is threatening physical violence and offering challenges a very imature way to deal with an online disagreement?

I have read this on another forum.
Absolute nonsense.
Just a great deal of hot air (or typing).
Someone wanted to have me a fight, right up to the point of them not sending me their address.
It isn’t helpful to MA or to this forum to even think about it.
Wish I had a key

I completely agree random. It is absolue nonsense. I was just wondering if anyone thought that it can ever be justified.
You said that someone wanted to have you a fight up until them giving you their address. Are you saying you would have met them for a fight if they had provided it and hadn't backed out?

Who knows, the point is they were all puff. It is a sad part of forums when people behave in this manner, if two people cannot agree then agree to disagree and move on, if two people cannot get on…then they are dealt with by Admin.

I think it is a sad state of affairs when someone feels that they have to resort to challenging someone else to a fight over the internet. Whatever happened to 'agreeing to disagree'??

I tend to agree it's ridiculous. But, if you make an an incredible statement like, "I'm bigger than Jesus" then I suggest you have a plan to back it up. Those starting fights on-line, I don't feel for you when they you are called out.

If you got into a row with someone on the internet. Would you ever be willing to actually meet them and fight them? Lol. no. What most internet forums are missing is a killfile. www.dickalba.demon.co.uk/usenet/guide/faq_kill.htmlThe karma thing goes some way towards that but it doesn't seem to have any functional value on proboards.

That's a good idea, but would it keep the board friendly knowing someone is just discarding my posts. I'm not sure how I would feel about that.........

I'd love to meet with some people on forums and train with them, see what knowledge we can share and perhaps even spar with them, but I'm not going to traipse around the country to get into the MA equivalent of a bar brawl.

Yes, a KR meet-up would be a great thing - a good opportunity to train with people that we 'know' and share ideas.

Who wants to settle scores? Life's too short, I'd prefer to train and then go for a drink in the pub!

excellent! ;D a good beatdown always helps settle scores and sort out what works and what doesnt. now where did i put my mouthguard? Such a typical reaction. It isn’t even funny. For those who can a get together to train, tell stories and drink beer is a top idea. I’d be up for it, in fact I know just the place.

Well i always maintain that i will not give my adress out, but if you want to fight me you got to come to me, tell me when your flight arives I will come to the airport and kick your ass for you...make sure you have a return ticket because it wont take long, you could be back in bed the very same day!
This response usually stops them...or gets on their nerves! But they would be stupid to travel to my country, to fight. The reason I say airport is that it doesnt give him time to collect weapons or allies!
*bows respectfully*
