Well the seminar was great fun! There was so much to learn from the kata and despite the seminar being 4 hours long I felt that there was still so much they could have showed us. Harris Sensei and Burke Sensei work so well together, a well orchestrated team. They mix the seriousness of training with good humour and are always willing to help out if anyone is having any trouble with the techniques. Questions are readily answered and no one is left floundering. There was good attendence and it was good to get the chance to train with different partners and see how to alter the technique to the individual. Big thanks go out to Harris Sensei for taking the time to come down and teach us, and big thanks go to Burke Sensei for providing a superb venue, the organisation of the event and sharing his knowledge with us. The evening out was very good as well, although I think I may have had a couple too many lemonades . Many thanks again, I look forward to the next one! ;D Angela

Hi Angela,
Glad you enjoyed the seminar - I had a ball I must admit, but then I always do when I come down to see you guys.
I was blown away by the attendance - 30 bods is none too shabby and included some really nice guys from Krav Maga and Jujitsu along with some guys that travelled all the way down from Colchester!!! The feedback I got was also tremendous, everyone seemed to enjoy the session and you all put up with the pain admirably.
Thanks have to go out to a few people, firstly John Burke Sensei, a good friend and great martial artist. I love teaching with him and do think we make a decent tag team. Also a HUGE thanks to Dave Flloyd of John's club, Keiko Shotokan Karate and his lovely wife Jackie for putting myself and my student John Dyer up and being a host par excellence - Thanks very much.
Thanks also to a certain Miss G for being a great drinking partner ;D
All in all a really enjoyable and successful weekend which will definintely be repeated in 2005.
Thanks again guys Martyn
