IAIN ABERNETHY & CHRIS ROWEN Seminar
On Saturday the 29th of January 2005, Saturady 28th March, Saturady 10th December and Saturday 26th November, Iain Abernethy (5th Dan) and leading martial arts author will be teaching a joint seminar with Shihan Chris Rowen, who as most of you will know was a student of Grandmaster Gogen Yamaguchi. The seminar is the brainchild of Tony Pillage and is entitled The Ying and Yang of Karate. The aim is to look at karate from both a pragmatic and spiritual perspective. In the run up to the seminar Shihan Rowen and Iain Abernethy were asked a number of questions for an interview with Martial Arts Illustrated magazine who are covering the seminar in some depth.
There has already been a great deal of interest in this seminar. Tickets are £40.00. Places are limited to 80 and a good number of tickets have already been booked. Full page adverts for the seminar are also going to be posted in the martial arts magazines, so you are advised to book your place as soon as possible. The seminar will run from 11am to 4pm and will be held at The Sports Connexion, Leamington Road, Ryton-on-Dunsmore, Coventry CV8 3FL.
The idea is that the seminar will cover two of the key forgotten aspects of karate; practicality and spirituality. Iain says "I really consider it a privilege to be invited to teach along side someone of Chris Rowens calibre and I'm looking forward to the day immensely. This seminar was put together by my good friend Tony Pillage and you can get further details from him: anthony.pillage@ntlworld.com or by phone: 024 76 331239."
