Southampton (England) United Goju Seminar 2005
Five top class instructors of the Goju-ryu style of karate are gathering together on Sunday 3rd of April 2005 at the Eastpoint Centre, Southampton, to share their wealth of knowledge and train together in the spirit of mutual respect and friendship. The event is open to all martial artists regardless of style or background.
Instructors for the event are Kevin Buxey, 5th dan Eastpoint Karate who will be holding a combined session with his brother Kurt Buxey, 5th dan Solent Goju-ryu, Mike Clark, 5th dan Sodokan; Tim Nicklin, 5th dan Mumei Juku; and Simon Lailey Sanshangong. With over 100 years experience between them we are guaranteed a superb weekend of instruction! The idea of the United Goju Seminars is to explore the vastness of Goju karate and to experience the different approaches schools have to their training, as well as to explore complementary or historically associated arts. The first UGS was last year and proved to be a resounding success, you can read about it at www.ugs2004.com.
Registration for the event is from 09.00 to 09.30 and training will continue on until approximately 17.00. Altogether training time will amount to 6 hours. Tickets are just £20, Spectator tickets are £10 (spectators accompanying participants will be entitled to a reduced
fee of £5). Interest in the seminar has been high and numbers are limited to 100 attendees, it is advisable to register your interest to avoid disappointment! Due to the nature of the seminar there is a minimum age restriction of 16 years old.
