Gavin Mulholland & Iain Abernethy are hosting a joint seminar on 19th February 2006 in Solihull, Birmingham. www.practicalkarate.com for more info. I'm not sure yet if I will be attending but I was wondering of anyone else from here is going?

I'd not heard of it before, but as it is those 2 karateka who are holding the seminar then I shall certainly try to go along. I've only been able to attend one of Iain Abernethy's seminars before, but certainly enjoyed it and hope to train a lot more on his courses in future.

I can't make it but would be interested in training with Gavin in particular. I haven't met him, but have read a lot of his work.
If anyone from this board is going, a seminar review would be most appreciated.

I am interested in this but I'll have to see what's going on closer to the time.

Did anyone from on here go to this?
I didn't as I was at an event in Sheffield but a guy from my dojo did and he said it was good, although didn't spend long enough on each technique shown.

although didn't spend long enough on each technique shown. This is maybe the only complaint I would have with these type of seminar's (not just Iain or Gavin's but other peoples as well) It seems to me that you have to be shown loads and loads of technique's to justify attending the course and cost. I myself would prefer to less techniques and more study time on each technique. ....saying that I didn't go as my wife as poorly sick.

Yes my brother and i went, it was excellent I thought there was enough time going through the techniques, but maybe the last hour we seemed to rush through them. Is the idea of a seminar not to give you a taste of what can be done, we write down in a notepad anything new etc then practice at home. Rosie

Rosie As long as there is enough time to make sure that the technique has been picked up correctly, so that you don't get home and suddenly find it doesn't work as expected. Any chance of a review?
