What are people's favourite books or websites for gathering material about your MA?
Which ones do you avoid?

I used to love the 24 Fighting Chickens (Shotokan Planet) website, until it sadly shut down.
I also like Karate Forums. It's forums, not really an information website, but you can pick up a lot of good info from there - there's some very knowledgeable people post on that site (and then there's me... ;D)

You may not have agreed with Rob Redmond on everything he wrote but nevertheless there was so much information there. I now go to Karate The Japanese Way instead (Mark Groenwald) and their forums Karate Underground are pretty good too.

I'm currently trawling through the free Karate Magazines I got at Seni this year and also Karate-Do Kyohan, by Funakoshi.

Karate-do Kyohan and Karate-do Nyumon are 2 of my favourite martial arts books, along with the "bible" of karate, translated by Patrick McCarthy.
Anything by Ian Abernethy (including his free e-books) is a good read too.
