Do you do any supplemental training to enhance/assist your martial arts training? I try to go swimming when I can, ditto for going to the gym. I also try to stretch as often as I can (usually every day), even if I don't manage to do any other training on that day. Walking backwards and forwards to the bar is also a good workout! All that lifting of a full pint glass must help to tone my arms too...

I use the gym quite a bit, usually just for CV. I go to Body Combat sometimes too, it gets my heart rate up more than I usually do just on the running machines or rowers.

I'm thinking that I will start up swimming again at least once a week. It's great exercise, builds stamina and does not put extra pressure on the joints (they take enough pounding in karate )

I would swim but I hate the feeling it leaves you with afterwards.

I would swim but I hate the feeling it leaves you with afterwards. There are two major factors I dislike about swimming. The first is that you have no idea who has been in the water before you and their hygiene. There could be no end of crud floating around in the water The second is that I do not like being in a swimming costume in a public area. It makes me feel very self-conscious.

ME in speedos is.
I work in a sainsburys warehouse so I get to do a lot of heavy lifting.
I mainly just do press ups and stuff that they taught me at judo at home, with some wicked music on.
