The best new massage at the moment and there are lots of fads is a hot stone massage, a decent salon will do then average cost about £50 FOR 1 1/2 HOURS where I am. I would be unsure about anybody walk on my back.
A good massage from a professional every few weeks complimented by a chiropractor, even if you don’t think you need it is very beneficial, and then when you do need they know your body and speed up treatment.

(sorry for asking what is possibly a stupid question) How is a hot stone massage any different from a 'normal' back massage.

The heat penetrates deep into the muscles and organs. They also place them at strategic points to allow the heat to penetrate. It is one of those that has to be done. I am a born sceptic and went along determined not to enjoy it or feel the benefit, but I did in both counts. You could just get a friend to rub deep heat in but that might smell funny (aka Withnail and I)
