I had a boxers break once! Had to be pinned for weeks....I kept the pin after the doc had pulled it out! It looks gruesome pinned as they use a k-wire or something and it protudes from the skin a little. You'll probably need it in plaster too. Sorry if that sounds a bit doom and gloom! ;D The only advice I'll give if you do require the knuckle pinning is...have lots and lots of strong painkillers to hand. I wish you a speedy recovery!

Yes I too hope you dont need it pinning my friend, and you are able to get back to training soon.

Sorry to hear that Mr P.
Had the same fracture a couple of months back. More bad temper than training on my part, though it turned out to be a re-break.
Good luck with it.

I'm guessing it must have been your pinkie you caught in the sleeve?
Your own sleeve, or someone elses?

pinkie caught other guy's sleeve i think. no pins required it was close but not through the joint surface so they just replastered it. I go back in 3 weeks, should be healed by then. stookie pics. none of the bruising/swelling, didn't think of it. www.flickr.com/photos/mrprecision/tags/boxersfracture/it isn't painful, just a pain in the arse. in the meantime i'm having to do everything left handed.

Well be prepared for 'Stinkie Pinkie". Might take a week or so for your hand not to stink after you get it out of the cast.
