I had a Martial Arts billing/business services company phone me up today wanting to send me an information pack. I said yes, even though it is highly unlikely that we'll sign up for their services; I think our club is just too small.
Does anyone on here use a billing company (or does your dojo use one) and if so what's your experiences of it?

*grin*
Heck, if the club is paying anyone money to sort out billing then it can pay ME first!!
As I said, it's highly unlikely that we'll take the company up on this offer. I think pigs will fly first...
I was just curious as to who has ever used a billing/business services company before for their dojo.
Edited for spelling

I get emails from MAInstructor.com now. I didn't sign up for them, they just started coming through... anyone else had this?

I've had emails from them for a few months now. I get emails about martial arts from all over the place -trying to flog me this service or that piece of equipment, or getting me to register my grade in their "Hall of Fame" or "World Blackbelt Registry" or other such sphericals.
Most of them I just delete without even reading.
Andy, as for what services they're offering I don't really know. I agreed that they could send me some info, but I don't even really know what it will be about. They just said they did billing for martial arts schools/clubs.

Do you know who they are? The biggest one I've heard of is NEST. There are pros and cons to both sides I guess. On one hand it's great for an instructor to be able to concentrate on pure instruction, on the other hand I am very uncomfortable with companies that insist on long term contracts paid upfront, with no refunds should circumstances change. It takes the decisions out of the hands of the instructor, who may alter depending on circumstance, and places it into the hand of a company that sees the customers as nothing more than faceless numbers. If I were to ever use a billing company I would need to make sure that their approach was glove in hand with mine.

I've not come across this before, but I've been officially off the teaching circuit for a few years now. I'm guessing it would be to do with monthly billing of students and managing payments, with them guaranteeing you the money while taking a percentage for that guarantee.

I can't remember the name of the company - United something-or-other seems to "ring a bell". When I get the info from them I'll let you know.
