They can have my sword when they prize it from my cold dead hand. (another homage to a crap film, just call me Edgar)

It's the minority who ruin it for the rest of us! There must be thousands if not more people in this country who own either ornamental swords or genuine MA swords, yet we only hear about the bad things that people do with them. Shame really! I hate this country

I have several Samurai swords, including one which is an antique that one of my ancestors brought back from the Orient after a military campaign out there. They are MINE, and the police can't have them. I do not intend to kill or maim anyone with them, and in fact the only person I am ever likely to damage with any of my martial arts weapons, is myself. (The nunchaku spring to mind - literally in some cases).

I know an old girl with a sword stick, it was her fathers I think, and she uses it as a walking stick, it is quite old and very well made, I am trying to convince her to let me take care of it for her.
The same thing happened with handguns, sensible law abiding people handed them in, only to get ripped off on the compensation. The criminals just kept theirs under the bed until the next time they needed it. I haven’t looked it up but I am sure that gun crime is up.

I find it ridiculous how people are treated in this country. I really do.
What else is going to be banned before they realise that if someone has murder on their mind they will always find something to do it with.

You could probably murder someone with a paperclip, should we all hand those in? What about butter knives or scissors or forks? Could do some damage in the "wrong hands" - maybe the police ought to call on Asda and Tesco to only sell plastic cutlery?? This country is getting ridiculous. I have a large collection of martial arts weapons, many African hunting weapons and many that would certainly be lethal if I tried to stab or hit or shoot anyone with them. However, as most of my weapons collection lives on the wall in my dining room then I think that it is a bit daft for police to call on me and other weapon entheusiasts to hand our collections in. Several of the weapons I do train with regularly, but the only danger I am when training is a danger to myself. Anyone ever dropped a Chinese hand axe on your foot? I don't recommend it...
