I am just watching the “Wicker Man” for the umpteenth time.
What ‘Horror’ Films have we seen that are worth watching or avoiding?

Burnt to a crisp again, poor old Edward Woodwood.

The Wicker man is a very good film. The Excorsist is one of my all time favorites but Exorcist two "The Heretic" I thought was rubbish. I found the first two Hellraiser films sick and disturbing.

A film I saw recently which I liked was House of Wax. Texas Chain Saw Masacre is my favourite (the new one). Also, Creep was pretty good too. However, I like the new stuff. I'm not much for old films.

I didn't find The Exorcist scary and thought that The Exorcist 2 was the biggest pile of pants I've seen in a long time. However, that new film The Exorcism of Emily Rose looks good - very chilling.
I recently went to see Saw 2 at the cinema - great, great film, even better than the first one (if that is at all possible)
I also like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween, The Amityville Horror, House of 1000 Corpes, The Company of Wolves, Shadow of The Wraith and Constantine.
The Scream series is pretty good too (I think that the 3rd is the best of the lot) and The Ring and The Grudge were alright too, although the original Japanese versions of both are better.
Avoid The Blair Witch Project. Scary, my ar$e!

Ooh the first Grudge was good, and The Ring was good the first time I watched it.
Saw was gross, but not particularly scary. Constantine was ok, but again not scary.
13 Ghosts was cool.

Amityville 2 freaked me out because of a specific reason.
I was watching it with my friend, it was the bit where the guy crawls into the "sh*t and flies" room and she suddenly said, "There's a person walking across the background". I couldn't see it at first so we rewound the tape and sure enough there was a person walking across in the far background. We watched it a couple of times and then carried on watching the film.
Later on another mate came around and we went to show her and there was no sign of this person anywhere.... I guess you probably had to be there but it was quite freaky at the time.
Having been raised a Catholic I also still feel uneasy with anything that involves satanism...

I didn't know there was a saw 2. I'll have to go and see that. I loved the first one.

Shining was pretty good, I've seen that one a few times. I saw an old one advertised on the TV over the weekend, I can't remember the name but it was good, there's a flying shiny ball with a knife and milling cutter on it.
