I'd like a heavyweight gi, with a Japanese cut, but long jacket length. I bought a Kata Master go off karate-kid and it is nice (although the blue tint disappeared in the first wash ) but I would prefer something a bit heavier. Any other recommendations for a place where I can get a cheap gi of this spec- without buying poor quality? I don't think I want another brushed cotton, as, although it feels nice, the material tends to stick once you start sweating.

Someone (an adult) at my club has this suit from The Martial Artists: www.themartialartists.co.uk/products.php?cat=9It's about halfway down this page. The one that Carrie (at my club) has looks really nice and seems to be good VFM. When I need another cheaper suit I might get one.

This picture and description of this Gi looks identical to this one Light Weight Karate Gi White Senior I bought from Icon Martial Arts www.iconmartialarts.com/html/body_karate2.htmlIf it's the same Gi - it's actually made and sold by Playwell: Karate Uniform Deluxe White P/Cwww.playwell.co.uk/store/acatalog/Karate_Uniforms.htmlIt's a nice Gi (Icon are great for customer service BTW) but I don't like the cut of it, the front seems too short for me and as Angela has already written the material tends to stick once you start sweating - but for the price a great Gi.

Hmmm. I woud only go for 100% cotton anyway, because I am a snob The heavyweight would be more like it really, but they are full length and the skirt looks a bit short. I need to win the lottery so i can justify getting a couple of made to measure ones. .oO{dream}

Hah, it would be just my luck that I'd buy a made-to-measure gi and then either have dramatic weight-loss or dramatic weight-gain so that it would no longer fit!!
Still, I'd like to have a made-to-measure gi. Hey, a gi where I don't have to have the trouser legs taken up would be a start...
