Hello.
How are you?
Could someone please tell me what TCM is? I gather Bunkai is the applications of moves, is that right?

Hello
Sorry about that, we do tend to use jargon after a while. It's good that you catch us out on it as it's easy to forget that not everyone uses the same terminology; and we need to make sure we don't put people off by coming out with what sounds like nonsense.
TCM = Traditional Chinese Medicine MWM = Modern Western Medicine
And bunkai is the applications for the moves from our kata (forms or patterns).
Welcome to the board, and I hope this helps! Thanks Angela

A few other abbreviations you may see used on martial arts forums...
MA = martial arts TKD = Tae Kwon Do TSD = Tang Soo Do KSW = Kuk Sool Won JKD = Jeet Kune Do WC = Wing Chun
McDojo. That isn't an abbreviation, but a term used to describe 'bad' martial arts clubs (any style, not just karate). i.e. clubs that tend to hand out black belts to very young children, or that guarantee that every student will become a blackbelt, or clubs that train in techniques but the instructor can't explain the principles behind them, etc etc.
