Do you ever train in the dojo without your gi? I don't mean train in just your underwear either... What do you wear instead and why do you train without your gi? Is it just when it is hot or for other reasons?

I sometimes train in a T Shirt and training trousers because we have a lesson on Fridays where a gi is not necessary. If I train at home I wear whatever I want.

I like to train in my gi if I am in the dojo, but when I am at home I often train in everyday ‘normal’ cloths. These never allow the range of movement that a gi or loose tracksuit does. I haven’t done it, but to do bunkai in everyday clothes might add a sense of realism to the occasion.

I agree. Although when I am in normal clothes I often have quite a big buckled belt on - I'm not sure my partner would enjoy having their face scraped down that.

No, but it would be worth wearing it once for training just to find out the other possibilities that you can get from it!! We train pretty regularly without gi - the difference that wearing 'ordinary' clothes can make is incredible. I'd recommend no-gi training to all MAists who are into training for SD.
