Given a choice which of the Heian kata is your favourite, and why do you think this is?

I voted for Heian Godan - which just goes to show that tastes change as I used to like the whippiness of Heian Yondan best. However I think Heian Godan is a really strong, dynamic kata. I'm not great at the jump, but that just means I have something to work on

I'm with Yondan, it's a great kata and looks pretty impressive too.

I'm torn between Heian Shodan and Nidan. I keep finding new applications for the movements so, even though these are the starter kata, I never seem to get tired of reviewing them.

Currently it is Sandan, because I found something in the bunkai that fascinates me. I even asked Nishiyama Sensei if Funakoshi Sensei ever gave a reason why he changed that particular bit in the kata but he didn't know. I believe the reason for that change was because Funakoshi was so small (only ~ 1.50m). At the moment, this thing has me completely stunned and I plan to write an article about it, maybe get it published.

I like Heian Yondan the best out of the Heians. I like the swiftness and energy in it as well as the fact that there's some fantastic applications hidden in there.
I used to have 2 cockatiels called "Heian" and "Yondan". Yes, I am sad and I do need to get a life....
