Yeah, she was definitely in a state of "White". If it is true, it sounds to me like she may well have been drunk.

There are some media that protray the arts OK for me. I know people hate these movies, but the Karate Kid movies really did a decent portrayal of Okinawan philosophy and techniques (not all mind you). Also, steven Segal, lousey actor that he is, does a pretty realistic fight usually with his aikido.
On the subject of "expert of the martial arts", I have 31+ years in it now and hold a 4th Dan, and if somebody calls me an expert I straighten them out right away, because I'm certainly no "expert". I'm experienced. I have my good days...and I have my bad ones. The past few years with back and knee injuries (only the knee is related to the MA's), my training has gone downhill. It's still in my head, and I can do most of the things I normally did before, but some things I can't do now and possible never will be able to do again.

Story sounds absolutley bollocks if you ask me. Nearly as bad as when a woman got mugged here outside her dojo. The aside was that the dojo was starting a self defence course the next week.

The aside was that the dojo was starting a self defence course the next week. Yep, if it wasn't such an appaling course you wouldn't mind!
