I can spell CAT but I have problems spelling pigeon, so what should I vote? I'm fairly fluent in most karate terms, but what did surprise me was that a couple of more senior grades didn’t know the difference between gedan, chudan or jodan My wife likes the term gedan kekomi for some reason

I think I know most of the alphabet but knowing how to spell is another thing. Besides, on this subject there are many ways of spelling the same word so I guess I'm alway seeing new words but just not taking notes

I'm somewhere between spelling CAT and speaking pidgeon. In a few more years I might be able to start communicating with the natives if I'm lucky!

well, it depends, what language are we speaking. Some I have a draw on that is as clear as rain to me. Others think I am nuts, and have not a clue. The truth is of course somewhere between them. For example the jump in H3, to me it is clear as rain that there is throw here, others claim other things. I can see both, does that make me bilingual?( I do speak English and American ;D)

I can add Latin to this, but it is Latin with a bit of e bar gum...and a bit of Greek all though that is enough to get me a decent kebab

Pffft, I can beat that. Best thing I can say in a foreign language is "you are a pair of swimming trunks!" in German. The brother of a mate of mine taught me to say that. There's a long story behing why, but I'll not bore you with it. Suffice it to say that we were all at school at the time and that sort of thing is what passes for funny when you're about 9 or 10.

Hukd on foniks werks 4 me! ;D Oh...I know some swear words in German, Korean, Spanish, English of course, and Chippawa/Cree (American Indian). I lived in Germany for 1.5 years and know enough to order up to 10 beers at a time...and I speak fluent Canadian...eh? I'm hopefully going to be hooking up with a wonderful English woman I was engaged to back in '98/99 again for the holidays this year, and there's a good posability that we're going to try to make it work again this time. If so, I have to get used to her way of speaking again and using words/phrases that I'm not familiar with.

I should have taken my gi and worked out with Angela...it would have been more productive.

Yeah, that would have been fun ;D
Sorry it didn't all work out for you though SRS. Still, I guess it's probably better that you know rather than going through life with a bunch of "what if"s.

Sorry to hear that SRS.
If you ever plan on coming over to the UK again then we should all have a meet-up.
