Hmmm, Opel Astra (= the continental version of the Vauxhall Astra) is usually not too bad a car; seems like you got what we call a "Monday car". Maybe also switch the garage if they give you the "oh, she's a female driver, she doesn't know what she's talking about, let's give her the fault" crap.

Nope my car sucks. But I'm getting a new one beginning of November so I don't care.
Anyone had any experiences (good or bad) with the Mazda MX-5?

Mazda = extremely reliable. MX5 = lovely car to drive, great reviews in all the mens car mags. New MX5 = absolutely stunning motor. Angela get's MX5 = Can I have a shot in it please? PS. Angela, ask Southerner on MAU, as he has one.

Nice car Angela! It'll be better than the Vauxhall Astra.

MX-5's are a very good car and like Andy said very reliable. Wouldn't catch me in one though, at 6ft3 I'd need to leave the roof down all the time ;D

Only a good thing if you lived in a hot country where it was guaranteed not to be rainy!

I always wondered what people with convertibles did if they were driving down the motorway with the roof down and the heavens opened! I assume they would have to wait until the next services as stopping on the hard shoulder would be illegal as it's not an emergency or break down.

Don't some convertibles come with an automatic mechanism to enable you to put the 'roof' up without stopping?

Yeah, not the MX-5 though - as far as I know. Also I doubt it would be a great idea at 70mph. ;D

I dunno. Not everyone can say their car can be used as a kite. Mick
